JBR is a web report on the evaluation of Serbian journals. Over 550 journals are categorized and ranked according to two dozens of indicators of global and local impact, bibliometric quality, and publishing integrity.

The immediate purpose of JBR is to assign all national evaluated journals into the one of so-called preliminary categories. The results are also utilized in decisions by the Ministry responsible for science in the Serbian government about the support and amount of the support to the journals publishers.

At the same time, JBR serves as a feedback to improve the quality of journals. The report comprise information to be used by the journal editorial boards in shaping their publishing policies. A set of indicators allow direct insight into the extent to which journals meet international publishing standards and criteria for indexing in international databases, most particularly admission criteria of Thomson-Reuters Web of Science.
