eIFL General Assembly in Belgrade

The 7th eIFL General Assembly (Electronic Information for Libraries (http://www.eifl.net/)) will take place in Belgrade, Serbia, on November 8-11. The event is organized by the National Library of Serbia.

eIFL. net is an organization which gathers scientific libraries from more than 50 developing and/or countries in transition. Its purpose is to enable them with solid and more favourable approach to the scientific information, within complex financial arrangement. Due to the common approach to the publishers eIFL members succeed in great reduction of subscription fee for the scientific databases and journal full-text collections.

The outstanding choice of databases and electronic journals, enabled for the local researchers by the Ministry of Science through KoBSON, is made possible, at least to some degree, in favour to the membership in eIFL. The National Library of Serbia, which represents our country in eIFL, is highly active member of this organization.

eIFL General Assembly in Belgrade will be mainly focused on the promotion of its business framework. The largest publishers will have presentations of their databases and collections.
