SocioFakt – Yugoslav Database for Social Factual Sciences
Abstract: The SocioFakt, a bibliographic database developed to cover national needs for secondary information in social factual sciences is described. Various motives and reasons for building such a national database, as well as resulting decisions on the structure and the format of database are discussed. Finally, the actual content of the base, and the software supporting its use are shortly presented. The advantages of the base in research output evaluation by means of the citation analysis are pointed out. It is concluded that SocioFakt is relatively small, but the most complete known database of the kind.
